As the designers surprised everyone with their beautiful creations on the runways during Lakme Fashion Week, there was a lot of great fashion happening on the streets of Mumbai as well. I had a fun time capturing people from all over India gathered for the Summer/Resort ’16 edition of Fashion Week. Bloggers, stylists, designers, models and all kinds of fashion enthusiasts were dressed in their sartorial best. I’ve always had a passion for spotting trends on the streets as it is the best medium to figure out what fads people are adopting or following from the runways. While bright colours and statement sunglasses ruled the women’s street style fashion, the men were donning quirky prints and eye-grabbing hats. Street fashion was at its best as people were seen pairing high street and designer wear with thrifted pieces and cool accessories. As a street style photographer, I typically take pictures in portrait mode but this time I opted to shoot in landscape which not only gave me an opportunity to focus on details but also provided a wider frame to capture the mood of this particular Fashion Week.
